Danish pilot's missile-launching 'selfie' goes viral

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, March 5 (UPI) -- A photo taken inside a Danish fighter pilot's cockpit at the same moment a missile was being released has gone viral online.

The picture, which British newspaper the Daily Telegraph said is thought to have been released by the Royal Danish Air Force, depicts the pilot flying a F-16 fighter jet wile a missile launches over his shoulder.

The Telegraph reported the pilot has not been identified, but is wearing a Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System, which allows pilots to guide their weapons by pointing their heads at targets.

The missile being launched is an AIM-9L missile, weighing nearly 200 pounds and measuring 9 feet, 11 inches long.
