"The snow is grey in the city today, no green grass to be seen," begins Ponce on the bleak Chicago landscape, "Everything's frozen solid, reflected in the bean. The wind is howling and we have to get inside. Hard to leave the house, heaven knows we've tried."
Then comes his inspiring message, "Don't get upset. Don't let them see. Be the good girl you always have to be. Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know, you [expletive] hate the snow! Let it go, Chicago! Can't hold it back anymore. Let it go, Chicago! Turn away and ask for more. I don't care what they're going to say. Let the cold rage on! The cold never bothered us anyway."
He also takes a pot-shot at New York, "And one thought comes to mind as I walk out the door: I'd still rather live here instead of in New York!"
His encouraging message will hopefully get Chicogoans through the winter and Ponce does have a rather good singing voice.
