NEW YORK, March 4 (UPI) -- The most expensive handmade items on New York commerce website Etsy include a "Teapunk Snail" with an asking price of more than $266,000.

The list of the "25 Most Expensive Handmade Items on Etsy," compiled by website Buzzfeed, is topped by the "Teapunk Snail," a sculpture of a snail from a "steampunk wasteland" that is listed as "display only," but available for purchase for a steep fee. Buzzfeed lists the price as $268,364, but the item is currently listed on Etsy for $266,940.

A $267,599 piece of Wall Street Journal-inspired art includes five $100 bills, a gold bar and a silver bar, but a $250,000 "Free Bird" sculpture contains only steel, plastic and acrylic paint.
