SALISBURY, Mass., March 3 (UPI) -- Maybe he should have gone with a recipe for Salisbury steak…

A Massachusetts motorist tried to pass off a clipping about recipes for short ribs as his car inspection sticker when he was stopped by officers from the Salisbury Police Department on Friday night.

The department shared the story on Twitter.

On Monday, the following item was published in the Salisbury police log:

“Kevin M. Guy, 51, 22 Pike St., Salisbury, was arrested Friday at 8:46 p.m. and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, forge/misuse RMV document, fail to dim headlights. Officers Richard Dellaria and Bruce Dow made the arrest on Collins Street.”

Apparently the suspect would have been better off if he left the phony sticker at home.

Anyone else who plans on cooking with a fake sticker might want to reconsider.
