FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla., March 2 (UPI) -- A 69-year-old man was arrested in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., for allegedly trying to pick a fight with a police officer, officials said.

An arrest report from the incident said John Sherman McCormick allegedly approached the officer, poked him in the nose and said, "You want to talk to me? Let's talk," the Northwest Florida Daily News reported last week.

McCormick then allegedly repeated his action and the officer responded by pushing him to the ground, telling him to roll onto his stomach and put his hands behind his back, the arrest report said.

McCormick said "Let's [expletive] go," and challenged the officer to a fight, the report said.

When the officer pulled out his Taser, McCormick allegedly tried to grab it, the report said. The officer then stepped back and stunned McCormick.

McCormick was taken to a local hospital for treatment, then arrested and charged with battery of a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

The events leading up to the incident were not detailed in the arrest report.
