TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 27 (UPI) -- At least he wasn’t calling for what Maria Montenez-Colon wanted, but he sure had a lot to say.
Florida man Keith Lukas pleaded no contest on Tuesday to calling the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office 2,927 times over the course of 20 months and was convicted on one count of making "repeated harassing phone calls.”
The 43-year-old South Tampa man was sentenced to probation for making the “vulgar” and “abusive” calls from May 2012 to December 2013.
During the calls, Lukas would harass and belittle sheriff's dispatchers, in addition to complaining about his past treatment at the hands of deputies. In many cases, Lukas would call back after dispatchers had hung up on him.
Under the terms of his probation, Lukas can only contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office if he has a true need for law enforcement or medical services.
