Oil-soaked cat found under car hood at Winnipeg oil-change shop

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- A cat is returning to health after it was found under the hood of a customer's car at a garage, the Winnipeg, Manitoba, Humane Society said.

When employees of Winnipeg SuperLube opened the hood of a car in the shop for servicing, a motor oil-soaked cat emerged.

Shop manager John Meadows said a cat under a car hood is not unusual, but they rarely make their way to a service garage.

"It happens, even in the city. They get cold, they feel something warm and they go and crawl into it. You go home and guess what? You've got a new cat," he added.

Employees called the Winnipeg Humane Society, who bathed him and named him Garfield, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Friday, adding the cat will be put up for adoption when his health improves.
