Danny Wax, co-founder of Ardenturous Labs of Santa Monica, Calif., said the Spreadsheets App uses the phone's accelerometer and speakers to collect data about the duration, thrusts and decibel peak of a sexual encounter, Nerve.com reported Friday.
"Spreadsheets was created to approach sex in a way that is both light-hearted and improvement oriented," Wax said. "We wanted to create an app that entices users to have some fun with their partner and share in that afterglow experience, while encouraging open dialog and feedback."
The app gives out achievements such as "Seven in Heaven" for a sexual encounter lasting 7 minutes and "Quick Spread" for a 3-minute session.
The company released data from 10,000 app users, indicating New Mexico residents have the longest lovemaking sessions, lasting an average 7 minutes, 1 second, followed by West Virginians with an average 5 minutes, 38 seconds.
The shortest sex was reported by Alaska residents, with an average 1 minute, 21 seconds.
