Survey: 60 percent of Russians not celebrating Valentine's Day

MOSCOW, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- A Valentine's Day poll of Russian adults found 9 percent of respondents said they have never fallen in love with another person.

The Public Opinion Foundation poll of 1,600 Russian adults from 100 cities found 9 percent of those polled had never fallen in love and 60 percent had no plans to celebrate Valentine's Day, RIA Novosti reported Friday.

The survey suggested 57 percent of Russians have good memories of their first loves, but only 13 percent would be interested in reconnecting. Nine percent of respondents said they still have occasional contact with their first loves.

The survey, conducted Feb. 9, had a margin of error of 3.6 percentage points.
