Olympic snowboarder's phone number helmet yields nude pictures

Feb. 10, 2014 at 2:53 PM

SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Olympic snowboarder Alexey Sobolev said putting his phone number on his helmet resulted in so many messages from women, his phone locked up.

Sobolev, 24, said Olympic authorities forced him to cover his phone number with tape, but enough pictures of his uncovered helmet circulated online and in the news media that thousands of messages from around the world were sent to him, Yahoo! Sports reported Monday.

Sobolev said the messages included dozens of nude photos of women.

"I'm definitely going to call them," Sobolev said.

He said he received so many pictures in a short amount of time that his phone temporarily locked up.

"Yesterday, some guys from USA and Canada sent [text messages]. Some girls sent me photos. But Russian girls: The best!" he said.
