WRENTHAM, Mass., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Authorities in Massachusetts said a middle school cafeteria cook accused of threatening to "shoot this school up" was angry about a batch of baked cookies.

Assistant District Attorney Christopher Meade told Wrentham District Court Wendy Ferris, 46, of Cumberland, R.I., threatened gun violence at King Philip Middle School in Wrentham when another cafeteria baked a batch of cookies to replace a batch she had overcooked, the Attleboro (Mass.) Sun Chronicle reported Tuesday.

"I'm thinking about going out and buying an AK-47 and shooting this school up," Ferris allegedly told a coworker.

Court records revealed Ferris allegedly told coworkers she was going to purchase ammunition and had a list with one specific worker "on the top" of it.

Ferris, who is free on $5,000 bail, pleaded not guilty Monday to uttering threats to commit a crime.

Ferris, a former Wrentham resident with no prior criminal record, has a gun license and a 9 mm handgun, court records show.
