Furniture store to pay $7 million in refunds for Super Bowl bet

HOUSTON, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- A Houston furniture store said it is making good on its Super Bowl bet and paying customers $7 million in refunds.

Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale, owner of Gallery Furniture, said he would give full refunds to anyone who spent $6,000 or more at the store in the two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl and had their furniture delivered by 5 p.m. Sunday if the Seattle Seahawks came out victorious, KTRK-TV, Houston, reported Monday.

The store announced on its website McIngvale will make good on his bet and pay out about $7 million worth of refunds to qualifying customers.
