Truck crash spills frozen chicken onto Georgia interstate ramp

DECATUR, Ga., Jan. 14 (UPI) -- An interstate ramp in Georgia was closed Tuesday when a truck overturned and spilled 38,000 pounds of frozen chicken onto the roadway.

The driver, who was not seriously injured, told WSB-TV, Atlanta, the southbound Interstate 285 ramp onto eastbound Interstate 20 in DeKalb County was slick from the rain, leading the vehicle to crash and cover the road in frozen chicken.

The crash occurred around 3 a.m. Tuesday and the ramp was reopened by 6 a.m., the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. State Department of Transportation crews were on the scene after the ramp reopened Tuesday morning, to clear the spilled chicken from the shoulder of the road.

The chicken was bring transported from Texas to South Carolina at the time of the crash.
