DELAND, Fla., Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said a woman accused of attacking her roommate during a fight about butter blamed the hormones from her pregnancy.

Volusia County sheriff's deputies said Jennifer Feagley, 24, who is six months pregnant, became enraged Tuesday night when her roommate asked her why she had put butter on the stove, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported Thursday.

Feagley allegedly hit her roommate in the head, punched her in the chest, choked her and struck her with a cane.

Feagley admitted to the attack when questioned by deputies and told them her rage was a result of hormones from her pregnancy. She said she has also not been taking her medication for schizoaffective disorder due to her pregnancy.

Feagley was charged with battery and taken to the Volusia County jail.
