RIVERTON, New Zealand, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- A New Zealand baker said a poop-shaped cake sent to a client's engagement party was meant to "teach her a lesson" about communicating her desires.

Emma McDonald, owner of Oh Cakes of Riverton, posted a picture of the poop cake on Facebook and explained it was created for bride-to-be Micaela Harris, who paid for the cake with a $41 voucher that was reduced to $25 due to Harris owing McDonald for a previous business arrangement, the Mirror reported Tuesday.

McDonald said Harris did not give her any details about what she wanted the cake to look like, the British newspaper said.

"Your left with a [$25] voucher and you want a cake still?? ok cool - give me some ideas?? oh wait you have none apart from wanting chocolate," McDonald wrote in her Facebook post. "I have a brilliant idea for your cake!!! - so here it is, your turd cake! Hope you learn your lesson."

The cake bears a flag reading, "Eat [expletive]."

A family member of the bride posted about the incident on Facebook.

"It was wrapped up in a box, so it was done deliberately as a nasty surprise. It was a disgraceful thing to do," the family member wrote.
