Anny Stokes, a passerby, said she spotted the kangaroo in the Kingswood Manor subdivision as she was walking around the neighborhood Tuesday, WESH-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported.
"I yelled, 'Oh my gosh, a kangaroo,'" said Anny Stokes. "I just couldn't believe my eyes."
Stokes said she called 911 and deputies showed up at the scene.
Another woman who was not identified showed up at the scene and told Stokes that she had been babysitting the kangaroo.
"I asked that woman. She said she's the babysitter, so sounds weird. I said, 'Do you live here?' She says, 'I don't live here. This kangaroo lives here,'" said Stokes.
Officials at the Orange County sheriff's dispatch said deputies caught the kangaroo, it was returned to the sitter and the case has been closed.
