Dec. 27, 2013 at 2:34 PM

WASHINGTON, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- An encounter at the White House between U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and rap artist Snoop Dogg, including fist-bumping, has surfaced on the Internet.

Commenting on the short video Thursday, Snoop posted on his Instagram account: "Boss life. Me n John Kerry at d White House!"

The meeting occurred Dec. 8, the day of the Kennedy Center Honors, CNN said, noting Snoop Dogg was invited to participate in a tribute to jazz legend and honoree Herbie Hancock.

On the video Snoop can be heard telling Kerry, in reference to Hancock, "He invented hip-hop, that's why it only makes sense."

They then laugh and offer each other a fist-bump, with Kerry saying, "You gave me a good pound."

The Instagram video has received almost 24,000 likes, CNN said.
