ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 27 (UPI) -- A Florida family says they awoke Christmas morning to find a Grinch had tiptoed through their home as they slept, unwrapping presents and stealing electronics.

Police said a burglar entered the home in a downtown Orlando neighborhood through an unlocked back door, took several gifts from under the Christmas tree and unwrapped them on the back porch, the Orlando Sentinel reported Friday.

The thief kept two presents and stole two laptops. An iPhone was taken from a bedroom where Tamarah White told police her college-age daughter was sleeping.

The daughter came home late after visiting with friends and used the front door, unaware the back door was unlocked, White said.

"It's very scary that they came upstairs," White said. "They were looking for things that were easy to sell, and when they found the gifts that we had under the tree, there weren't any electronics."

The family re-wrapped the gifts and replaced them under the tree.
