BERKELEY LAKE, Ga., Dec. 25 (UPI) -- A Georgia couple said a Christmas display joke involving a mannequin dangling from their home resulted in a visit from police, firefighters and paramedics.

Bubba Murphy of Berkeley Lake said a woman mistook his holiday display, which features a mannequin surrounded by Christmas lights dangling from his home with a fallen ladder on the ground below, for an actual person in distress and called 911, WSB-TV, Atlanta, reported Wednesday.

"I opened the door, there were fire trucks, ambulance, fire marshal, police car and six fire men," Murphy said.

"Oh my gosh, she apologized to myself, my wife, the firemen, and the fire marshal," Murphy said of the 911 caller.

His wife, Dawn Murphy, said the couple knew people were sometimes fooled by the display, but they "never really thought we would get anybody to the point of dialing 911."

The Murphys said they took the display down for a short time, but replaced it due to its popularity among neighbors.

"Hope we didn't offend anybody," Bubba Murphy said.
