LOUISVILLE, Ky., Dec. 17 (UPI) -- A Kentucky dentist nicknamed Dr. Pepper for his love of spicy foods chomped his way to a world record by eating about a dozen ghost peppers in 2 minutes.

Jason McNabb, 34, of Louisville downed the hot peppers to set a record on the Guinness-run TruTV program "World Records Unleashed," the (Louisville) Courier-Journal reported Tuesday.

McNabb clinched the world record by downing 2.32 ounces of ghost peppers, or the equivalent of 12 to 15 of the super hot peppers.

"Eating hot peppers, it'll give you a food high," he said. "It'll give you a dopamine rush, and you do get a bit of a buzz from it.

"But it's also something more. It's kind of addicting. You have to have something hotter in order to satisfy that craving."
