“On Saturday, November 30th, Mr. Camping sustained a fall in his home, and he was not able to recover from his injuries. He passed away peacefully in his home, with his family at his side. We know that each of us remain in God’s hand, and God is the One who knows our appointed time to leave our earthly body behind.

We are so grateful to God for Brother Camping’s dedication to Family Radio and for his lifetime of service to God. We are thankful to know that Family Radio is God’s ministry, and will continue to be in God’s care and keeping.”

The notable preacher had served as president of Family Radio since 1958, though he retired from active broadcasting in 2011. Camping used the stations to help spread the word about the Biblical end times and collect money from his followers. He gained press for his prediction that "Judgment Day" would occur on May 21, 2011. When the date passed without incident, he revised the prediction, saying the world would end on Oct. 21, 2011.

Camping revealed he was "flabbergasted" that his prediction had not come to pass. After he was proven wrong, donations to his ministry dropped considerably.
