A representative for Parma City Hall said the traffic camera put up by the Cleveland Police on the Parma side of the border is illegal in the city because Parma ordinances only allow for photo enforcement in school zones, WEWS-TV, Cleveland, reported Wednesday.
"It appears this was a mistake and we have been informed that it will be removed by the City of Cleveland," the representative said.
The Parma Safety Director's office said the camera was not yet functional so no citations should have been issued as a result of its installation.
Cleveland City Hall did not respond to a request for comment, WEWS-TV said.
