Investigators said the suspect, whom they identified only as Peng, has lived in Yiwu, Zhejiang province, for about two years and he arranged to borrow money from a man in a nearby village when his parents requested he send them cash so they could build a house, chinadaily.com.cn reported Wednesday.
Police said Peng accidentally went to the home of a man surnamed Qin instead of the house he intended to visit. They said Peng took $3,270 from the house and left his name, address and cellphone number on an IOU.
Peng was arrested and police said he told them he did not think he had broken any laws because he left an IOU.
