MANCHESTER, N.H., Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Dozens of students from 32 New Hampshire high schools are scheduled to compete in the state's upcoming inaugural Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament.

Jack Miron, a Derryfield High School ninth-grader, said he came up with the idea for a tournament during the summer after his interest in the game was buoyed by a book he got for Christmas two years ago, WMUR-TV, Manchester, N.H., reported Tuesday.

Miron said 32 schools responded to his invitation and dozens of students are scheduled to participate in the tournament, scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. Saturday.

He said the first place winner at the event will receive a $500 prize.
