Jesus, Mary figures stolen from Massachusetts nativity scene

Dec. 5, 2013 at 6:41 PM

QUINCY, Mass., Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Police in Quincy, Mass., said statues of the baby Jesus and the Virgin Mary, popular targets for thefts, have again vanished from the town's nativity scene.

Police said the figures were taken from the Quincy Center Nativity scene at some point prior to 1 a.m. Thursday, Boston.com reported Thursday.

Capt. John Dougan said the Jesus statue had been bolted to the manger after previously being stolen and recovered in 2004 and 2012.

Police said the thieves apparently also attempted to take a shepherd statue, but left it on the sidewalk.
