Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe BROOME, Australia, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- A sea eagle snatched a wildlife camera from the banks of Australia's Margaret River and carried it more than 60 miles, rangers said. Roneil Skeen of the Gooniyandi Indigenous Rangers said the camera was set up in the Kimberly region in the hopes of capturing footage of a saltwater crocodile. Advertisement Rangers that returned to check on the camera were surprised to find it missing, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported Monday. The camera was later discovered more than 60 miles away. Skeen said the culprit was identified from footage on the camera. "A juvenile sea eagle came and took-off with it and made three [recordings of] 30 second footage," Skeen said. Skeen said wildlife cameras have met strange fates in the past, but this was the first he knew of that involved an avian thief. "It was pretty cool," he said.
