Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe HURST, Texas, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Authorities in Texas said a talkative macaw will be returned to his home more than a week after he was stolen from a business and thrown from a vehicle. Hurst Assistant Police Chief Richard Winstanley said the bird, Captain Jack, was stolen from Bill Salmon's Sunrise Automotive business in Arlington Nov. 15 and a resident witnessed the bird being thrown from a sport utility vehicle Nov. 17 in Hurst, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Tuesday. Advertisement "A resident called us after someone tossed him out of a SUV," Winstanley said. "He was taken to a vet and he's been in good hands ever since. We figured someone would call about him." Salmon said Captain Jack has served as the business' mascot for about six years and has a vocabulary of more then 50 words. "He picks up someone else's conversation, too," Salmon said. "After they leave, he'll repeat everything they have said." The thieves also made off with a vehicle and tools. The vehicle was found abandoned the day after the burglary, investigators said. Police said Captain Jack would be returned to Salmon Tuesday. Advertisement
