DES MOINES, Iowa, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- A group of Iowa college and high school students created a 30-foot-tall replica of a Lego person as their shelter for a charity campout.

The 22 students from Iowa State University and Johnston High School said they created the cardboard structure for Saturday night's "Reggie's Sleepout" event at Drake Stadium in Des Moines and modeled their shelter after a Lego figurine, KCCI-TV, Des Moines, reported Monday.

"We started brainstorming and about a week ago we made our first cut and our first strap of tape, and it's been not a lot of sleep since then, but it's been really fun," ISU engineering student Ryan Francois said.

Reggie's Sleepout is aimed at raising money and awareness for Iowa Homeless Youth Centers. The Lego man team said it raised $6,500.
