Early Thursday morning, three adults, including Pablo Solorio, woke to the sound of shattered glass and screaming after the unidentified thief smashed a window and cut himself.
"It was nerve-racking," Solorio said. "I didn't know what was going on."
After they saw how badly one of the intruder’s arms was bleeding, Solorio's stepfather brought him to the bathroom and Solorio's girlfriend called 911.
"The guy just walked through here, walked through the entire living room and the hallway, screaming for help," Solorio said
And, it turns out, he wasn’t a complete stranger.
"The funny thing is, I met the kid the weekend before," Solorio said. "He knew my name. He was like, 'Pablo, help me! Help me! Help me!’ He broke into our house and made us go through a lot of anxiety. I don't really know how to feel about the whole situation."
The burglar was taken to the hospital and is expected to be arrested and booked after being released.
"These people, they took pity on this person. They saw he was severely injured and they rendered aid," said Salt Lake police detective Dennis McGowan.
