Man named Batman Suparman jailed in Singapore

SINGAPORE, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- A Singapore man named Batman Suparman was sentenced to jail for less-than-heroic deeds including theft and drug use.

Authorities said Suparman, 23, was sentenced to two years and nine months in jail after pleading guilty to offenses including six counts of theft, two counts of house trespassing, one count of breaking into a house and one count of drug consumption, Channel News Asia reported Monday.

The crimes, which occurred between June and August this year, included breaking into SGF Billards & Marketing Singapore while it was closed overnight and stealing $160. He also took ATM cards belonging to his older brother, Nurazman Suparman, and made withdrawals totaling $680.
