MOSCOW, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- A Russian couple say they encountered a black kangaroo while driving through a forest in southeastern Russia.

The couple recorded themselves feeding the animal, which is native to Australia, a banana and posted the video to YouTube, RIA Novosti reported Saturday.

The video has become a hit on Russian websites and prompted a wave of funny comments suggesting that next Russians will be seeing chimpanzees on branches of fir trees or monsters in the Moskva River.

Local media reports say residents of the Saratov region have spotted the kangaroo at least twice this year.
