Poll: Many motorists admit to sex acts behind the wheel

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 30 (UPI) -- A California company said a poll conducted to promote its GPS system found 11 percent of respondents had engaged in a sexual activity while driving.

Telenav, which commissioned the Harris Interactive poll to promote its Scout GPS app for smartphones, said 11 percent of the 1,832 online respondents admitted to "having participated in a sexual activity while driving," USA Today reported Wednesday.

The poll also found 19 percent of respondents had eaten food that required the use of silverware while driving, 10 percent applied makeup behind the wheel and 9 percent flirted with drivers in other cars. Harris found 4 percent of those polled had read a book behind the wheel.

Harris said the poll results are not considered scientific and do not include a margin of error.
