Dorothy Davies, who founded the Sanctuary and Safe Haven for Animals, or SASHA Farm, in Manchester with her husband, Monte Jackson, said the sheep is resting in a barn with a goat named Buddy until he seems comfortable enough to join his fellow sheep, The Detroit News reported Wednesday.
"In a day or two, once he gets comfortable, he'll go out to pasture with the other sheep," said Davies said. "The animals are happiest when they are with their own kind."
The sheep was dubbed Eminem after he ran down Eight Mile Road, where the rapper Eminem famously lived, and took shelter in a Detroit auto shop Oct. 15.
Police said he had a numbered tag and a purple stripe painted on his back, indicating he likely escaped from a butcher.
