San Francisco directs marathon complaints to sex line

Oct. 23, 2013 at 6:03 PM   |   Comments

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- San Francisco's public information 311 line mistakenly directed callers complaining about noise from the Nike Marathon to a phone-sex line.

The residents said they called the 311 line to complain about the noise, which started at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, and were told to call a Nike line to complain, (800) RUN-NIKE, the San Francisco Chronicle reported Wednesday.

However, the number instead directed callers to a sex chat line instead of Nike's actual complaint line, (866) RUN-NIKE.

The 311 information service was still giving out the incorrect number Monday afternoon, the Chronicle reported.
