Norwegian store axes severed Halloween hands

OSLO, Norway, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- A Norwegian store said it will no longer sell fake human hands packaged to resemble supermarket meat after complaints from customers.

Knut Spaeren, purchasing manager for bargain chain Europris, said the severed hands and other Halloween-related items are being pulled from the shelves after some customers complained about them being too frightening, The Local.no reported Wednesday.

"Our intention was obviously not to upset our customers," Spaeren told news website NRK. "Now we are withdrawing the few products that people have complained about, including the severed hands."
