Oct. 21, 2013 at 3:36 PM

WASHINGTON, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- The White House announced President Obama hosted a wedding in the Rose Garden of his official residence for the chief official White House photographer.

The White House said photographer Pete Souza and Patti Lease were married at the White House Saturday night by White House Military Chaplain Stanley Fornea, CNN reported Monday.

Souza has been Obama's chief official White House photographer since his election in 2008 and he served in the same position during President Ronald Reagan's second term.

The Hill reported the wedding was not on Obama's public schedule.
