Melissa Monty-Provost of Country Dreams Farm in Plattsburgh said she discovered an ad from a seed company advertising seeds for pink pumpkins and decided to grow the pumpkins so they would be ready in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, WCAX-TV, Burlington, Vt., reported Thursday. We did the investigating, signed the contracts, planted the seeding and eight months later we have pink pumpkins on the ground," Monty-Provost said. "We tend to try to grow strange things, different things; we're very non-conventional," Monty-Provost said. Monty-Provost said she is selling the pink pumpkins for $15 apiece and the proceeds are being donated for breast cancer research.
