Chocolate Festival features 496-pound mousse

MIAMI, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- A Florida mall's annual Chocolate Festival featured the creation of a chocolate mousse organizers say may be a world record breaker, at 496 pounds.

The Aventura Mall in Miami said chefs Danny Malone and Rick Chiavari led the team that created the world's largest chocolate mousse Sunday at the 6th annual Chocolate Festival, The Miami Herald reported Thursday.

The mousse's ingredients included 108 pounds of chocolate, 66 pounds of butter, 24 pounds of egg yolk, 20 pounds of sugar, 50 quarts of heavy cream and 5 gallons of milk.

The mall said the 496-pound mousse was submitted to Guinness World Records.

The Chocolate Festival raised money for the Children's Craniofacial Association, a non-profit benefiting children with craniofacial conditions.
