Runaway dog joins half-marathon in Indiana

EVANSVILLE, Ind., Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Runners in an Indiana half-marathon said a wandering dog joined them and completed the course before being caught.

Participants said the chocolate lab joined them just as the YMCA Half-Marathon was getting under way Saturday in Evansville and the canine completed the course before being caught by Evansville Animal Care and Control, WFIE-TV, Evansville, reported Monday.

Animal control officers said the dog, named Boogie, was reunited with his family.
