VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- A Canadian woman whose cat was lost at a Vancouver airport said the feline has been recovered and will join her in Toronto.

Kelli Seepaul said she was taking a WestJet flight last week from Vancouver International Airport to Toronto, where she is moving, and her cat, Willow, disappeared at the airport when her kennel fell apart, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported Monday.

Seepaul said the airline contacted her to say Willow had been found.

"We understand she was located by an Air Canada worker in one of the baggage areas sometime in the wee hours of this [Monday] morning," WestJet said in a statement.

Seepaul said her parents are retrieving Willow from the airport and she will get a checkup at a local vet before taking a WestJet flight to Toronto free of charge.

She praised the airline for its service.

"I'm really happy with the updates they gave me, and what they did to find her," Seepaul said.
