RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- A couple in Saudi Arabia ended their two-year marriage because they were unable to agree on a name for their daughter, Arabic daily Okaz said.

Okaz said the young couple's argument began when both of the parents wanted to name the newborn, their first child, after their mothers and the tension escalated when the husband registered the girl's name officially as his mother's name, Gulf News reported Thursday.

The husband and wife were unable to reconcile their differences despite intervention from relatives, Okaz reported. The couple have now filed for divorce.
