Baby Francesco was born last week to parents Michele and Sabrina Isella, who moved to the rural village in the Lingurian Riviera hills five years ago because they fell in love with the forests in the area. Advertisement Sabrina, a middle school teacher in a nearby town, said she and her husband didn't want to start a family in a big, industrialized city. The couple are both originally from outside Milan. "We discovered this place and decided to change our lives," she told ANSA news agency. Like many small Italian villages, Lissa has experienced a steep drop in population over the decades, becoming a veritable ghost town. The remaining handful of residents said they saw the blue ribbon on the Isella house as a "sign of hope."
