Sept. 26, 2013 at 3:43 PM

LIDKOPING, Sweden, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- A Swedish man approaching 95 years old said he was able to renew his driver's license and plans to stay behind the wheel until he is at least 100.

Bertil Josefsson of Lidkoping said he renewed his license and bought a new car to celebrate his 95th birthday, which will arrive next month, and he said he will not stop driving until he absolutely has to, TheLocal.se reported Thursday.

"I'll drive for as long as I can. There aren't any limits," he told the Expressen newspaper.

Josefsson said he drives his new Volkswagen Golf about four times a week to visit friends.

The Swedish transport agency said an estimated 1.5 million of the country's 6.2 million driver's licenses are held by people 65 and older.
