GOTHENBURG, Sweden, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- A Swedish fish factory worker said he will tour the country with a salmon found to have a cross shape on its belly.

Lars Ludwigson, a worker at the factory in Gothenburg, said he had originally planned to take the Norwegian salmon home for a "blessed dinner" Thursday, but he changed his mind and decided to share the marked salmon with the rest of the nation, The Local.se reported Wednesday.

"It seems that the Jesus fish has been brought back to life and will begin touring," Ludwigson said.

"My original plan was to eat it, but I can't do that now. I've hidden the fish in a freezer because of this hysterical interest and I'm the only one who knows exactly where," he said. "But I must conserve it in some way, putting it in alcohol might upset some Christians so the most biblical method must be to salt i t... if I remember correctly, Jesus said something about that."

Ludwigson said the fish will begin its tour Thursday at an Ica store in Malmo.
