Lawsuit alleges hug popped woman's breast implant

CHICAGO, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- A Chicago lawsuit alleges a woman's breast implant was ruptured by an overzealous hug from a restaurant doorman.

Kelli Belpedio's lawsuit, filed in Cook County Circuit Court, alleges she entered Chicago's Epic Restaurant March 29 and was immediately hugged by doorman Schyler Truesdell, described in the suit as "a former college football offensive lineman who weighed approximately 300 pounds," the Courthouse News Service reported Tuesday.

"When Schyler Truesdell was squeezing Kelli Belpedio against his body on March 29, 2013, she felt a pain in the right side of her chest and a pressure against her right arm," the lawsuit states.

"When Kelli Belpedio awoke on March 30,2013, her right breast implant was deflated," the suit says.

The lawsuit names Truesdell, Epic Management 351 and owner Steven Tavoso as defendants.

Belpedio's lawsuit says Truesdell's bosses should have told him "that doorman duties and policies at Epic Restaurant did not include bear hugging customers."

The suit is seeking $50,000 in damages.
