Sept. 9, 2013 at 6:10 PM

HEBER CITY, Utah, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- A McDonald's manager in Utah who said she was robbed while on her way to make a deposit is accused of faking the incident with three accomplices, police said.

Heber City police said the 34-year-old manager, whose name was not released, called police Sunday afternoon and told officers she had been robbed while on her way to make a cash deposit for the restaurant, The Salt Lake Tribune reported Monday.

However, police said their investigation found the woman and three others staged the robbery and attempted to steal about $4,000, most of which was recovered.

The woman and the three others were arrested on suspicion of second-degree felony theft and class B misdemeanor making a false report, the newspaper said.
