Man eats 14 lobster rolls in 10 minutes to win contest

HAMPTON BEACH, Conn., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- A Connecticut man downed 14 lobster rolls in 10 minutes to win the Lobster Roll Eating Contest in New Hampshire.

James Burgess, 42, who said he had never eaten a lobster roll prior to Saturday's contest, took home the $600 top prize at the 24th annual Seafood Festival in Hampton Beach, the Portsmouth (N.H.) Herald reported Monday.

Sao Young, 30, last year's champion, took second place and a $250 prize by downing 13 rolls and Tim Downing, 31, won the $150 third prize with 11 rolls.
