"It's amazing," Somboon Wu, owner of the Interasian Market and Deli, said. "It's inspirational, really. Even though it's hard sometimes, we need to give people a second chance."
The man dropped off a handwritten letter in which he claimed to be a drug addict who robbed the store of beer and $300 11 years ago.
"I do not use drugs anymore, and I feel I must make amends to the people I have hurt in the past," the man wrote.
Enclosed in the letter was $400, WSMV-TV, Nashville, reported.
"We just want to let him know if he's watching, wherever life takes you, we forgive you for what you did," said Wu.
