Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe DALLAS, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- The Dallas Zoo announced two 8-week-old cheetah cubs have joined the zoo's Animal Adventures outreach program -- along with a Labrador puppy. The zoo said cubs Winspear and Kamau, born July 8 at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal, Va., have arrived in Dallas and will be raised alongside 8-week-old black Labrador puppy Amani. Advertisement Sean Green, vice president of Guest Experiences for the Dallas Zoo, said the zoo believes Amani will serve as a calming influence on the cubs, and the cubs will help educate the public about conservation efforts for cheetahs, which have fallen to an estimated 10,000 still living in the wild. "It is a thrill to be able to tell the story about cheetah conservation and to educate Dallas Zoo guests about this magnificent species," Green said. "Winspear and Kamau will become important animal ambassadors for the Dallas Zoo, building appreciation and awareness about cheetahs to more than 900,000 visitors each year."
