Tom Rogers, coordinator of Hamilton County Animal Control, said he is working with Noblesville police to locate the 8-foot Colombian red tail boa constrictor that escaped from a Noblesville family's home Monday, WTHR-TV, Indianapolis, reported Thursday.
The snake's owners put out flyers with a warning that the animal "might be aggressive."
However, Rogers said the boa is not likely to pose a threat to humans. He said the snake might attack small dogs or cats if it feels threatened.
Rogers said officers have not yet found any trace of the boa, but he is confident the elusive reptile will be located "when it wants to be found."
